Tellybomber

The recent DLC for the Ork Mekboy in DOW2s Last Stand added 2 items “Juiced up Tellyporta” and “Pokkit Rokkit Launcha”. Both these items work well with the original content to create the tellybomber which does exactly what it sounds like, teleports round the map and explodes.

This is my personal preference for the Mekboy, I’ve racked up a serious number of kills with this build and I can solo large blobs without breaking a sweat. The only drawback is that the teleporter armour has a negligible armour rating so once I can’t teleport I die rather quickly.

My Build

Weapons

Zaap Knife

The Zaap Knife is the achievement unlocked weapon for the Mekboy which aside from being a pretty awesome knife has 2 special effects, a 50% chance to teleport your target randomly and a 25% chance to teleport you randomly. These teleports when coupled with the Juiced Up Tellyporta result in a map filled with exploding enemies.

The Zaap Knife is unlocked by getting 350 kills in one game which with this build (using the Big Choppa here until you unlock the Zaap Knife) is an easy number to reach.

Pocket Rokkit Luancha

Although it offers no benefits to the teleporting part of this build it makes for a great little ranged weapon. I don’t see many rockets flying round in most matches as the whole point of this build is to keep moving and not to sit in one place shooting.

Accessories

Juiced Up Tellyporta

This is the key part to the build, it gives all your teleports an explosive after shock which causes a lot of damage and a knock down. The explosion occurs a couple of seconds after you appear which can be used to catch up with a squad that is running away from you.

Sturdy Bitz

Sturdy Bitz prevents you from being knocked down which has 2 uses in this build, you can teleport in an revive other players easily and more importantly it stops the Juiced Up Tellyporta explosion from knocking you down, otherwise it takes a few seconds longer before you can teleport again and if your porting into high level blobs you wont live long enough to escape.

Speshul Tools

Speshul Tools gives you +25 energy which is a must for a Tellybomber, without it I found I was running out of energy every wave and had to save the last teleport to get away and regen.

This can work with Cybork Parts here instead if you fancy getting stuck in melee and using the Zaap Knife more.

Armour - Teleporta Pack

This armour may resemble a wet paper bag and provide a similar armour rating but it does grant you the ability to teleport around the map at will which allows you to jump right into the middle of a banshee blob (3+ squads) and have them all die around you.

Commander Item - Trophy Rack

The trophy rack reduces enemy damage by 35% which can save your green bacon when your energy runs out.

You don’t need to take roks as you will be doing plenty of damage anyway with the teleporter and you need all the help you can get when your energy runs out.

Stratergy

As you’ve probably worked out the whole idea of this build is to teleport around the map and be as a mobile as you can. If you run low on energy teleport to a safe place on the map and wait for your energy to regenerate before attacking again.

With this build it is completely possible to take down vehicles, just teleport in next to them repeatedly. Your Zaap Knife will also come in handy as you can teleport vehicles all over the map at no energy cost. The sudden change in location will cause some delay in the AI as it re evaluates targets and paths.

In wave 16 of the bloodied colosseum your duplicate will go down easy, and you do need to be taken down quickly otherwise your team mates will be ported all over the map and die in explosions. I’ve even had the game crash with “Ork_RandomTeleport” errors which seemed to be caused by me and my duplicate hitting each other with the Zapp Knife at the same time which could potentially be 2 random teleports each.

This build on the face of it looks rather over powered and to the casual observer it is but remember that the Mekboy has no armour at all so larger mobs/high damage dealers will kill you in the same way that a tank build can be taken down if enough damage is sent their way.
